District Open Day
This is the spot for discussion about the District Open Day.
The dual purpose of the district open day is to showcase what is happening under the community priorities in that district, and to give residents in that district the chance to give input and feedback around those priorities.
This day can take whatever format the committee decides is best, and innovation and creativity is welcome, as long as it achieves the dual purpose. As we said at the induction, it could be a forum or an expo or a picnic or a speed networking event or a community arts activity or anything else.
There is a budget of $1500 per District in the draft 2016/17 Community Development budget for these events, which could cover materials, contractors/sub-contractors, entertainment and advertising – leveraging contributions by partners might help the budget stretch further.
